Hi. I'm Alex Ruthmann. I am currently between jobs. Last year, I taught middle school general music at Cranbrook Kingswood Middle School in Bloomfield Hills, MI and was a special lecturer in music education at Oakland University in Rochester, MI where I completed my Ph.D. in music education. Beginning in August, I will be Assistant Professor of Music Education at Indiana State University where I will teach courses in general music, music education technology, and research.

I am a french horn player by schooling, but have been composing and performing with technology (synthesizers, wind synths, software, etc.) from a young age. I listen to all kinds of music and am most happy when helping my students learn how to better express themselves through composing.
